The purpose of the Music Ministry is to create an atmosphere of praise and worship where believers can come together and worship Jesus in spirit and in truth. Our goal in the Music Ministry is to do only what is glorifying to God our Father and his son Jesus Christ in the most excellent manner. That being said, we charge ourselves to be creative, inventive and passionate about worship and any facet of the Music Ministry so that it glorifies God alone. We do not wish to glorify ourselves, but Jesus, God's only Son
When We Meet:
Every Wednesday Evening at 6:00 p.m. for the Kaloumenos Praise Choir. We meet in the second room on the left of the Bible Study/Youth Wing.
What must I do to join the Praise Choir?:
· Be in attendance for two consecutive rehearsals.
· Have the ability to sing a part on pitch and in rhythm, blend with other voices and learn the music. You do not have to read music to join the choir. God sends us people with varied musical skills. There is a percentage in our choir that does not read music at any level.
. Meet for a brief interview with the Music Pastor
Though the Praise Choir is a volunteer/non-paid organization, people join out of a God-given talent, desire and calling to this ministry. This is a "skilled" area of ministry, as well as a "service" area. We believe that a person's heart and personal walk with Jesus will be the life or death of our music ministry. Although no audition is required, we want a music ministry that will bear fruit for God's kingdom, which requires from the person ministering a thoroughly thought-out commitment, adequate vocal and spiritual preparation and unshakeable integrity.
Vocal Ensembles
Select ensembles (duets, trios, quartets, etc.) made up primarily of Praise Team and Praise Choir members, sing periodically in services and special events.
Instrumental Team
This group is comprised of piano, multiple guitars, bass, percussion and keyboards. The instrumental team accompanies the Sunday morning and evening services. Anyone interested in joining our instrumental team should contact the Music Pastor.
